Canary reveals tender debut single, "i used to write you love songs"

Canary hail from good old Nashville, TN in the USA and they've recently unveiled their incredibly dreamy and tender debut single, "i used to write you love songs". As mentioned, this is their first ever full studio release since forming back in 2018 and by the sound of it was worth the wait.

"i used to write you love songs" is a dream-pop song that transcends into something that'll leave you breathless!

As soon as you hit play you delve right into their sounds, you're welcomed and embraced with warm guitar tones playing off one another, with tender drum patterns and basslines warming it all up. Obviously, vocals are next, and my goodness are they dreamy, the tones here can rival any of the best vocalists in the genre - think Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice for example.

The chorus is far from the tender dream-pop intro and is a wall of sound, perhaps hinting at their future releases and sound. "i used to write you love songs" is a dream-pop song that transcends into something that'll leave you breathless - they need to be huge based off this song!

Speaking about the new single vocalist Kat mentions - "I wrote the bones for this song during a trying time in my relationship. I wrote it on piano and intended it to be a much softer song but once we started to record the demo we transitioned to a harder/angrier sound. “i used to write you love songs” explores the feeling of betrayal and heartbreak in a relationship through dynamic contrast and reflective lyrics."

"i used to write you love songs" is out now, stream it on Spotify and be sure to follow them to never miss a new release!
