Since we last had Express Office Portico on the site their track "Cosmic Joke" has risen to #1 on their 'popular' tracks on their Spotify page, and it's well deserved too! They now return with their second single release of 2022 in the form of "Forget The Name".
It's safe to say that Express Office Portico's new track, "Forget The Name", is their most sonic track yet, very atmospheric and dreamy.
The Nottingham based band's new track is much of the same before it, but with more of a refined sound to it. "Forget The Name" sounds like the band are stepping into territory that will only get them more noticed by larger sites and curators online.
With the band previously citing Foals and Fickle Friends as two of their influences I can hear a lot of the latter on this record with the airy synth tones and clean vocals. The mood of "Forget The Name" is also very reminiscent of Fickle Friends but it's distinctly their own here as the production value is so much better.
