Over on the other side of the Thames estuary from us is Kent, and hailing from there is the exciting Doc Freighter. The band has recently dropped their up-tempo debut tune "Wax Lyrical" and my goodness is it filled with hooks here there and everywhere.
This song is incredibly bouncy and vibrant I'm sure it'll be a cornerstone of their live sets for years to come!
Opening up "Wax Lyrical" is a vibrant and funky guitar line backed with some crisp percussion, once the reverb-laced vocals come in the track gains body and you can feel more is going to come. It's when the track drops at the 30seconds mark it bursts into live with danceable drumbeats and addictive basslines mixed in with the soaring guitar tones.
The sound of "Wax Lyrical" is a mixture of Foals with post-punk revival elements especially when the BPM gets kicked up a notch. This song is incredibly bouncy and vibrant I'm sure it'll be a cornerstone of their live sets for years to come!
