Hailing from Washington is J. I. Gassen, and in the first week of February saw him reveal his brand new tune, "how do you know it's not a sign?". The single is the first piece of music since 2022 EP, "Wander With Glee?".
... it's phenomenal how he has seemingly captured a whole era in one track, and long may he continue to produce tracks such as this.
Something that hit me as soon as the track started was his vocals, honestly they remind me of The Beatles with how they're layered upon one another. If you add in the quirky guitar tones into the mix it sounds more and more like a homage to the legendary Liverpool outfit.
Take nothing away from J. I. Gassen and his style, it's phenomenal how he has seemingly captured a whole era in one track, and long may he continue to produce tracks such as this.
