Back when The Neighbourhood dropped their debut EP I attended their first-ever show in London, and even fellow taste-maker Zane Lowe went. Fast-forward to 2023 and they've blown up to astronomical proportions thanks to their tune "Sweater Weather", now at over a billion plays!
R. Jhaé is a rising producer hailing out of Texas as recently he dropped his slick remix of "Sweater Weather", and for me, it's given it a new lease of life.
As soon as the track kicks off it reminded me of a Groove Armada track with the ambient sounds washing over it, and when the vocals come in you're taken right down nostalgia avenue. Instrumentally it's a whole new being and I can easily see this being performed in a stripped-back setting by the band as it's so smooth and certainly commands your attention.
