Seattle-based singer-songwriter Mia Christ earlier this month unveiled her debut single, "kiss me with the light on", and what a track it is. Speaking about her music she says - "This first song is a break-up track meant to convey how it feels breaking up with someone you're still deeply in love with."
For a debut single this is nothing sort of stunning
So the debut single, short of the sweet is to say that it's a breath taking effort. It's delicate and raw with plenty of emotive vocal hooks that can easily latch right into your heart and make you shed a tear or five. It's very stripped back and focuses highly on Mia's soft tones, and what we also have here is a gentle piano that helps to push the track forwards with a soft electronic sound washing underneath it all.
For a debut single this is nothing sort of stunning, and it's no wonder plenty of Spotify playlist curators have already picked up on this tune - we feel like we will be hearing lots more of her in the coming months and years.
