Kayla Oh releases her debut single, "See Through"

New York City's Kayla Oh has today released her debut single, "See Through". With it being her first release there's not a lot of expectation here, but what that has done is give us a blank canvas to really delve deep into.

The track is very heavily leaning on acoustic tones and more subtle folk inspirations, vocally she reminds me a lot of Kacey Musgraves with that sweet country sound warming up the track like a turkey in the oven on a cold winter's day.

Kayla Oh is an artist you must keep an eye on, the rise could be amazing!

I get a bit sense of nostalgia from this, but at the same time knowing it's a debut track I'm just blown away. Speaking about the track she mentions - "I wrote "See Through" about a relationship that ended right before we both went to college. It delves into that confusing feeling you experience when trying to move on from a person, where one moment it feels like you’ve fully healed and the next it feels like you’ve taken 10 steps backwards."

Towards the end the guitar tones are just as warm as they have been, but with a great delicate sliding guitar just capping off what is a rather epic debut single, Kayla Oh is an artist you must keep an eye on, the rise could be amazing!
