On Valentines Day 2024 marks the day that Duke Keats unveils their new track, "Heavy Heartbreak". Of course, the track was released on this day for a reason, and this new arty tune is yet another reason for why the Coventry-based act is on the lips of everyone in their local scene.
A fantastic slice of lo-fi pop!
It's a very anti-Valentine song, focusing a lot on the flipside of what this day is all about. The tones here are shimmering and bright with glistening synth tones being heard throughout, with sweet vocals backing it all up.
I get a bit of a Metronomy feel with this, in every aspect from the approach of the vocals down to the production values. The song is a great example of a bright and bold lo-fi indie-pop tune that can easily get you moving your head in appreciation.
