Huddersfield-based LONG ISLAND has today dropped their anthemic new tune, "homewrecker". The single is just their second since their debut album came out back in 2023, but this track feels like a big shift for the band, with a pure driving anthem feel to it.
... an out-and-out indie-pop/rock anthem ready for the festival crowds in the Summer.
"homewrecker" starts off with a very cinematic feel, not too far from dream-pop songs, and as the seconds tick by the track evolves right before you. First, a charming guitar comes in and it then gets cinematic shortly after.
The breakdown with the acoustic guitar was a pure delight, literally after the track bursts into life and it feels like an out-and-out indie-pop/rock anthem ready for the festival crowds in the Summer. The whole feel of the song had me digging through their debut LP, it's got so many enticing hooks I'm sure if you love this too you'll also be checking out their older tunes.
Quite possibly one of the best-emerging bands in their scene, LONG ISLAND are certainly taking the year by storm if they drop more tunes like this!
