Coming out of the Oregon scene is Kallai reveals their new single, "Always/Never", and what makes it even more of a celebration is that it's their debut! So of course with no previous reviews out there we might be considered the first to drop a review, so here we go.
Fuzzy, dreamy and hazy - a proper shoegaze tune!
"Always/Never" literally bursts into life with a crashing drum symbol being the first thing we laid our ears upon. The sheer levels of fuzz here is amazing, you know way before the vocals come in that this will be an epic shoegaze song, and when they finally land it's as dreamy as the very best within the genre.
With members of the band being in bands within their scene we feel like this 'supergroup of the Portland music scene could easily be making waves in no time, and based off this debut cut I'm sure they'll deliver! Kallai could be at the forefront of this scene in the whole of the USA if they release a batch more tunes of this quality, so strap up and join them for the ride.
