Since Plastic Harpoons started releasing music back in 2022 they've gone on to get over half a million streams, and they even released their debut album the same year too. Just the other day saw the Santa Barbara-based quartet reveal their new single, "Better Than Dying", and right from the get-go it's a smooth piece of alt-rock.
"Better Than Dying" is a great example of their sound with it being the perfect track to get into them with.
If you're new to the band - like I am - you can easily hear why they've got the amount of plays they have. Vocally the song is incredibly rich, with tones that can melt you like butter on a hot summer day. The vocals are complimented with jazzy and soulful licks of guitar, and I have to admit this is when I feel like the song is only a sizzling synth away from a psychedelic sound.
All in all, I'd have to say that this is a dreamy example of Plastic Harpoons, and is a great example of their sound with it being the perfect track to get into them with.
