Back with their second track of the year is SUUNCAAT, they hail from Montreal in Canada and just a few days ago she returned with her electronically-charged new tune, "Salad Years". The beat is one thing that hits you from the get-go, it's infectious and toe-tappingly good but once those vocal hooks come in you'll be won over - much like I was.
toe-tappingly good
SUUNCAAT' vocals remind me a lot of Purity Ring and Grimes, with an angelic sheen to it backed up with dreamy whispers. The pacing of the song is delightful too with those keyboard/synth tones giving the percussion plenty of drive.
Speaking of the song SUUNCAAT mentions - " ... "Salad Years" is actually a very sad song but also very upbeat and humoristic. It’s just a self-deprecatory joke." Considering this is just SUUNCAAT's second-ever release is quite an achievement, as this sounds like an artist that's been refining their sound for years after headlining shows all over the world.
