The Avelons have recently shared their stadium-ready new single, "Since Monday", and to say that this band is on the trajectory to do so is damn correct if you ask me.

Since forming and then releasing their first single in 2021 the Newcastle-upon-Tyne band has been one of the hottest bands on their scene, and this new cut - the second of 2024 - sounds like it can fill up St James's Park to the brim.
The track brings to me some incredible memories thanks to the jangly guitars, there are echoes of Maximo Park and Bloc Party there, with the drum patterns sounding almost like they've been written to create a massive mosh-pit too.
Vocally it's commanding, once more we're found captive and with the melodies bouncing off the bass they are like maple syrup drizzling on pancakes - flipping delicious. "Since Monday" simply put is a delicious slice of indie-rock that is set to take over the UK.
