Based out of New Haven, CT is Aster Rhys and earlier on today saw the singer-songwriter release the new single, "Ocean Deep". One thing that struck me from the get-go was the feel of Celtic sounds mixed with traditional folk music, being from the UK we are exposed to this scene and I have to say I do have a soft spot for it.

The track comes after a three-year break and speaking of the song she mentions - " ... "Ocean Deep" captures the unravelling of a relationship, comparing it to the ocean's mysterious depths and the boundary between the familiar past and the unknown future."
The intro especially reminded me of a random pub I came across in Dublin a few years back, the delightful and whimsical flute mixed with the organic guitar brought me right back to this point. Aster's vocal is stunning with some incredible notes being belted out, the feeling you will get is one that borders on the edge of skin-tingling.
