Toronto-based singer-songwriter Laura Sea released her single "Certified Anti-depressant" back in June, and since it dropped it's gone on to be one of her biggest hits. Speaking about the song Laura Sea mentions - "The lyrics are about mental health the song sends a strong message about strength and hope."
... an anthemic pop-punk track that the likes of fellow Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne would be proud to call her own
A key factor why is that Laura incorporated a soothing piano into the intro, and it's almost like night and day when the track fully drops. Cascading drum fills enter the fold and then you are welcomed into the track with a strong guitar line.
That intro is a massive tease, but what we are left with is an anthemic pop-punk track that the likes of fellow Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne would be proud to call her own. Vocally Laura has some amazing moments, and with the fast-paced nature of the song, it's rather refreshing to hear her soft vocals act almost like a pillow for you to fall on once the high-tempo drums and powerful guitars fade.
