Vasilikí unveils her dark new cut, "Harley Queen"

Coming out of the bustling scene in New York City is Greek-born singer-songwriter, Vasilikí, and today sees her strong and vocally commanding new tune, "Harley Queen", get released.

The track has the ambience of a late-night thriller.

"Harley Queen" opens up with vocal harmonies and a soaring synth tone, and to be honest its is a stunning way to get our attention. As the song goes by it evolves, and it's not long before the track has this thick and crunching bassline that sounds like it was made in the early 90s, the feeling I got when I first listened this took me back to when I was young - an amazing feeling!

Speaking of the song Vasilikí mentions - "I wrote “Harley Queen” early 2021 in New York. I was sitting in my bedroom in Washington Heights and I started playing around with some melodies. All of a sudden I had written half of the song without even realizing it. I felt like there were many unexpressed emotions that found their way on a piece of paper that night."

The dark undertones mixed with her vocal tones remind me a lot of the vocal styles of Grimes, Poppy and Purity Ring, with the mood that comes from the instrumentation giving the ambience of a late-night thriller.
