Hailing from the city of Messina in the South of Italy is The Whistling Heads, and at the tail end of August saw the quartet drop the powerful new tune, "Lullaby Lady". The new tune is their fourth of 2024 and right from the get-go, I got a big nostalgic feel from it as there are lots of mid-late 2000s guitar tones on offer.
If you like the likes of Franz Ferdinand, We Are Scientists and Maximo Park then The Whistling Heads's new single is going to give you chills.
If you like the likes of Franz Ferdinand, We Are Scientists and Maximo Park then The Whistling Heads's new single is going to give you chills. The bass on the intro alone is enough to grip even the most casual of indie-rock fans, but once the main guitar comes riffing by with chanting vocals the tempo will get you out of your chair and moving all over the place.
The whole tune is infectious, with vocals that could entice a large crowd of festival-goers to shout it back, and in fact, I can see this causing havoc in a live setting. The way it's laid out will get you all charged up and ultimately end up moshing to the choruses.
