Hailing from California is Kylie Rothfield, and last week saw the singer-songwriter return with her new single, "Never Loved Somebody". The new single is the first slice of music to be released by the Los Angeles artist since her 2021 EP, "Ghost", and it certainly sounds like the artist is looking to burst back onto the scene!
Powerful vocals mixed with a retro guitar-driven haze.
With the previous release collectively getting over half a million streams it's no wonder that Rothfield has decided to come back with this powerful new cut. The smoothness in the guitar right from the start reminds me of The Police mixed with a psychedelic phaser, with the whole track feeling like it was recorded in the middle of the early 1980s new-wave scene.
Vocally this is stunning, with the tones remaining me a lot of Fleetwood Mac to Lana Del Rey and even the powerful tones of Teddy Swims. I personally feel like this could be the type of track that can reignite Kylie Rothfield's rise, just watch!
