Meat in Space releases their big debut EP, "Tangerine"

Coming out of California is a new act that's making a lot of noise, Meat in Space just last week dropped their big debut EP, "Tangerine". Made up of their first two singles and a trio of new cuts it's a full-on experience into the world of the act for 12 minutes.

The opening song is the EP title track and is laced in fuzz and psychedelic sounds that will be very inviting to anyone who's a fan of music from both of those genres. With some scuzzy tones added in there's a slight punk edge knocking around it too.

Next up is the two previously released tracks, "Chromium Dioxide" and "Ruby Tourmaline", which to me are two very different tracks. The former being more of the same noisy sounds that the first track was giving off, but the latter is more of a baggier sound that the likes of The Stone Roses might have put out back in the 90s, a really nice switch of sounds while still keeping the roots of their sound.

The final two tunes "Hyperion Ham" and "Call The Coroner" come thick and fast as between the two of them are just over two minutes long, with the last cut being more of a final hurrah giving the listener that ever-lasting impression.

Meat in Space - "Tangerine" (EP)
Out of 10: 8/10
For a debut EP this is really solid and will no doubt invite new listeners into Meat in Space's sound with open arms, full on and unapologetic garage-rock!
