Manchester's Shape Of Water earlier this month dropped their new synth-pop banger, "Last Goodbye". Right from the get-go you're greeted with a scorching guitar tone and dazzling synth keys, it's a bold start but trust me if you like the first few seconds the rest of the track is sensational.
... a synth-pop juggernaut—blazing guitars, throbbing bass, and retro chaos done right.
For me the song reminded me of that rather obscure band from Manchester around 2010, Daggers, they also had this frantic underpinning sound to a slightly retro sound, but what Shape Of Water has done here is infuse it with modern production values and even more hooks.
I also adore that throbbing bass that's in the track; it's the type of bass that has the potential to ruin your speaker setup if you have it cranked up to the max. Just do everyone a favour and give "Last Goodbye" a listen to, and while you're there be sure to check out more of their tunes - stretching back to 2019.
