Hailing from Stockport is Untold River, and recently the singer-songwriter has released his new single, "Only Son of a Navvy". The track welcomes you into it with a clean guitar tone that reminded me of those more stripped-back Oasis songs, but this track is far from that sort of sound. It's more wholesome and more folk-inclined with a hint of country about it.
... a soulful, folk-tinged gem that gently pulls you in and leaves you floating.
The vocals are by far the highlight of the song for me – rather soulful and welcoming for me, and as a new listener, that's what you always want.
The tempo of the song is set just so that you're not going to be foot-stomping but more of a subtle head-bopper, and when the chorus comes in, you'll be swept off your feet by the smooth organ sound and the strings in the background.
From the first listen we loved it, and we hope you shall do too - in fact, if you did like it be sure to check his previous songs out too!
