Melbourne's Ratfink! has recently revealed the venerable new single, "Gay Song", with this new offering acting as the second to drop this year following on from "About Ya".
... a tender, folk-leaning track led by warm guitar tones and powerful vocals.
Much like the previous release, Ratfink! has added a bonus track to the single release, so be sure to check that out too once you've heard the A-side. "Gay Song" has a delightfully warm guitar tone that kicks things off and is rather tender in places, with those powerful and emotive vocals coming not long after. You can easily hear the heart and soul speaking out here, with each word sung beautifully and with pure skill.
I really did like the track, even more so with the combination of backing vocals and the stripped-back percussive section; it's equally folk, roots, and acoustic with plenty of punch.
