Liverpool's Kwyjibo has revealed his new tune today, "Dark Again". The single is his debut and is a shining example of the strength of the music scene over in Merseyside. Speaking of the song, Kwyjibo says - " ... "Dark Again" is about the helplessness of wanting to support someone suffering mentally —and realising that just being there might be enough."
... a soaring, festival-ready debut packed with late-2000s indie flair and a chorus built to be shouted back at the stage.
"Dark Again" kicks open with this rush of guitars, reminding me of the peak of indie-rock in the late 2000's with tones reminding me of Bloc Party and The Courteeners. Vocally, it's direct with plenty of moments for the new listener in you to get latched onto, with a chorus that'll have you chanting it back to the speakers on the second go.
It's got that infectious, festival-ready, sing-along-worthy feel, and if this doesn't get your feet tapping, you need to check in with the doctors, as it's so addictive! So be sure to get on this hype train before it's all over Radio X!
