Coming out of the hot scene in Los Angeles, CA is MERE RITZ, and their new single, "Rodeo Clown", is just as spicy. It's just their second-ever single, but the way I felt on the first listen, I thought that they'd have toured the world already.
... a moody, synth-laced pop gem oozing ethereal energy.
The sounds on this remind me of that moody-pop scene that broke into the world over the past five years or so, with vocals channelling the tones of Halsey and even at times Poppy. I have to admit I do love the accent on the vocals here, it's so refreshing to hear a proper accent while someone sings, rather than the plain 'Atlantic English' that most acts adopt.
"Rodeo Clown" is ethereal, laced with strong synth-pop moments that even the lads from Glass Animals would love to use and a solid use of sound effects to give the track so much depth that you'll end up listening to it for years on end!
