Syndye-based singer-songwriter Aless Arias recently shared her emotive new single, "Deep End." It's a cracking track that has us replaying it all weekend, mainly because of the intro, but the whole cut is (in my opinion) her best track to date.
... brooding vocals, hazy dream-rock, and jangly riffs mark her as a rising indie-rock star.
Even though she's just three tracks into her solo career, it's been laced with her insanely brooding vocals, all teh while mixed in with peak 2000's indie-rock sounds.
"Deep End" reminds me a lot of Bloc Party's deep riffs and the darkness of The Cure, with the hazy dream-rock atmosphere overcasting on the whole track with a slight jangly guitar sound keeping it all rooted.
"Deep End" proves Aless Arias is one of Australia's most compelling emerging indie-rock voices, and it's not going to be long before she's all over Triple J!
