Following on from the debut single, "What the Hell, Hey", earlier on this year, Manchester-based barDe is back with her new tune, "Next to Last Girl".
...a retro alt-pop anthem brimming with sass and soul with a modern feel.
The new single is a retro-infused alt-pop anthem that mixes sass, soul, and storytelling. The song is full of catchy hooks, shimmering synths, and breathy harmonies that will help carry you into the song with ease. We felt some subtle nods to Blondie, and Cyndi Lauper on this, with some upbeat moments that reminded me of the earlier tracks by The 1975.
"Next to Last Girl" has a great nostalgic flair about it, and with her breezy vocals giving it that extra edge, we feel like this is a must-listen for anyone who's looking to root for a new rising act that has some great rock-pop moments.
