Coming out of the music scene in Tokyo, Japan is the rising rock outfit WENDY, and the band has recently delivered their energetic new cut, "Pull Me In".
... a gritty, guitar-driven anthem bursting with attitude and swagger.
One thing that hit me in the face from the get-go was how this sounded like a throwback tune from the 1980s, it doesn't even feel like they're based out of the land of the rising sun, rather a track that was put in a time capsule from the USA in the 80's.
Vocally speaking it's got a lot of grit mixed into it, with angsty guitar licks and frantic percussion sections. Be sure to keep an ear in for the guitar solos as it really turns the track into more than just a rock and roll tune, and into a full-on anthem.
It's a bold statement from one of Japan's most promising new exports, so be sure to get your ears around this!
