London-based artist Audren has recently shared a very quirky alt-pop cut, "When Freedom Dies" .The electronically-charged intro is rather addictive, and safe to say it got me leaning in a fair bit.
... a quirky alt-pop gem blending soulful vocals, poetic protest, and Bowie-meets-Pink-Floyd flair.
Her vocals are soulful and direct, with the song all about her struggles with Lyme disease into, with Audren turning this into a protest song that warns against blind conformity. I was getting Arcade Fire, Bowie and Pink Floyd vibes swirling all around this song. It is really a joy to the ear with multiple sub-genres weaving in and out of one another.
"When Freedom Dies" makes this new song from Audren really shine out for her, and if you like your interesting, quirky alt-pop tunes, then be sure to check this out.
