With over 150k streams spread over their first three singles is London-based Courtesy Car. "Roller Disco" is their latest melancholic new single, and as you'll quickly find out when listening, it's filled with cinematic sounds that will give you this rather sepia vibe.
... a moody, Radiohead-tinged alt-rock journey that lingers long after it fades.
I get big nods to Radiohead here, especially with the piano tones, and a bit of early Coldplay too (before they went pop), with the explosion of guitars just after the halfway point. The vocals had me hooked from the very first play, as they're haunting but delicate, and alongside the textures on the song, it just becomes one incredibly cinematic alt-rock anthem.
Even on my initial play, I wrote down how impressive it was, so why not give this a play (with open arms) and get stuck into one of London's new ambitious alt-rock acts!
