Hailing from Rome in Italy is Komaframe, and the act has recently revealed their alt-rock instrumental. Titled "Working on a new brain", it sounds to me like one of the most atmospheric tracks to be released this year.
... a vivid, genre-bending alt-rock instrumental that channels Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and post-rock finesse.
It's a very vivid offering with a blend of synths intertwining with strong alt-rock guitars. Think of this as an instrumental that the likes of Radiohead and Pink Floyd would make if they collaborated.
It's very post-rock in the core, and the textured soundscape sounds shaped by echoes of the aforementioned acts and the likes of Depeche Mode in places too, with those big electronic moments helping to generate more gravity in the track for you to get lured in with.
The track was recorded in Komaframe's home studio and further refined by an engineer - this release showcases Komaframe's evolution as a solo artist and his bold push into genre-bending territory.
