Australian singer-songwriter Tim Gambles has recently revealed his big new tune, "Gravedigger". The track was just his second since his 2023 single, "What Are We Doing Here", came out, but the sound on this is a tremendous one that fuses alt-rock with a nostalgic flavour.
... a hard-hitting alt-rock track with Chris Cornell-style vocals and nostalgic, genre-blending depth.
Vocally, Tim's tones remind me of Chris Cornell in places, to that of Wild Beasts, a big range, but the sounds on this are rather broad too, with plenty of sub-genres swirling around.
His striking vocal performance cuts through the track like a hot knife in butter, so smooth and with a vibrant, hard-hitting soundscape for him to sing over gives the track that depth that we know you'll be pining for more.
With every release, he is getting more known, and with a Sofar Sounds performance ticked off too we feel like it could be any moment that the Launceston artist will break out onto the national scene - so be sure to keep an eye on Triple J!
