I just love these jangly indie-rock bands from London, it's honestly the best scene for the sound I feel. With the likes of Bloc Party, Spector and The Vaccines coming out of it there is a new name on the cusp of stardom, French Dogs.
... a jagged, high-energy indie-rock anthem dripping with Britpop hooks and raw city grit.
Their new offering is out today, titled "Tucker’s Having a Baby" it reminds me a lot of the heydays in the capital, but it seems that the Indie-sleaze sound is coming back. The song is filled with jagged, high-velocity guitar tones with a slight burst of Britpop-inflected sounds, all backed up by urgency.
Lyrically and sonically, it captures the weird and somewhat confusing pulse of modern life, balancing their Londoner grit with hooks you can shout back at the stage.
There's a reason why Radio X and BBC Radio 1 DJs have already picked up on them! French Dogs also have a 12" official Record Store Day release on April 18th - click here for more details.
