London-based Savannah Gardner last week revealed her acoustic gem of a song, "This Pain is Love". If there is one thing that got us hooked, it was the intro, so serene and welcoming with a delightful folk-driven guitar and crisp percussion.
... a serene, folk-tinged acoustic gem.
As the track progresses, it becomes fuller, with the chorus especially sounding like Gardner is an artist that's about to emerge. I really liked that Dire Straits-sounding guitar towards the end of the chorus too, a bit of a tangent, but it ticked a big box for me.
The nostalgic tone that surrounds the track really sets it apart from other acoustic-driven tracks as of late, with this offering being one that sounds both intimate and yet atmospheric. She's an artist that you need to keep an eye on.
