Rusty Reid returns with his cover of "I Can See Clearly Now"

Seattle-based singer-songwriter Rusty Reid returns with his vibrant cover of Johnny Nash's 1972 classic, "I Can See Clearly Now". This new song features on his album, "Lone Stardust (Masterworks of Texas Songwriters)", and for me, it is one of the cornerstone tracks of the 19-song-strong release.

... a warm, soul-soothing reinvention of a 1970's classic delivered with West-Coast charm.



It honours the original track in high regard, and yet it still has his smooth male vocals caressing a rather delicate guitar track. It is a strong blend of easy-listening pop sensibilities with reeds, uplifting vocals, and soft rock tones that helps bring life into an all-time classic.

Because of this incredibly strong cover, I actually found myself heading back to the original. I have to say this is probably one of the best covers of this song that I have heard, and I have been in the game for quite a while.
