Seattle-based singer-songwriter Rusty Reid returns with his vibrant cover of Johnny Nash's 1972 classic, "I Can See Clearly Now". This new song features on his album, "Lone Stardust (Masterworks of Texas Songwriters)", and for me, it is one of the cornerstone tracks of the 19-song-strong release.
... a warm, soul-soothing reinvention of a 1970's classic delivered with West-Coast charm.
Because of this incredibly strong cover, I actually found myself heading back to the original. I have to say this is probably one of the best covers of this song that I have heard, and I have been in the game for quite a while. The best thing is, if you like this song and everything Rusty Reid does, then be sure to check out his latest album, where there are 18 more tracks for you to get stuck into.
