The Race are back with their emotional new offering, "Family Tree". The new track from the Reading outfit is their third of the year and is a fantastic snapshot into their sound.
... a triumphant comeback anthem lacing 90s Brit-rock nostalgia with crunchy, shoegaze-drenched guitars and personal heart.
The new single is a part of their brand-new EP titled "Family", and it turns a conversation between vocalist Dan and his son into a very guitar-driven anthem that anyone listening to it can relate to. It's got plenty of crunchy guitar hooks with an abundance of shoegaze draped over it for good measure. Think of Pixies, Placebo, and The Cranberries, all mixed in with an undertone of the late 1990s Brit-rock scene.
Having been on hiatus for 17 years, the band has previously released a couple of albums and a few EPs along the way, but it sounds like they are back to their finest with this wonderful new offering, "Family Tree".
