London-based artist Drew Thomas is back with his massive new single, "American Dreams". It's a fantastic track with a vocal hook opening the song before some tumbling drums and a strong guitar hook come later. It doesn't hang about and you are deep within the chorus within 33 seconds.
... a swaggering, high-energy indie rock anthem loaded with massive pop hooks, driving guitars, and unapologetic charm.
As soon as it hits, you know that you'll be sticking around for the long haul on this one. The rush, the feel, how anthemic it is: it really has everything, and everything before the first minute even comes. It's got that huge pop hook with some dirty guitars. It reminded me of Biffy Clyro in places and Twin Atlantic, too.
The track takes aim at fame, beauty, and that hollow pursuit of perfection, with the song having plenty of swagger and charm whilst speaking about that elusive American dream. Following on from his EP Watershed, this new track is certainly going to be reigniting a lot of interest in Drew. I feel like the next big release could be the turning point for him, so be sure to stick around.
