Hailing from Birmingham, UK, soul artist Matreya teams up with global channeler Lee Harris on "Truth." The track is a very worldly take on the soul genre. Right from the get-go you are greeted with echoing vocals that sound almost like they have been taken straight out of a gospel choir, with some panpipes and Asian-inspired guitar tones.
... a stunning, genre-transcending fusion of soulful choir vocals, spoken word, and rich global instrumentation.
Spoken word vocals on this really help to give the track even more depth than I initially anticipated. After a couple of listens, I could easily hear the emotion behind everything that he was saying. The chorus is stunning as well, and with the deep guitars adding even more depth, the song really comes to life. The song is the type that transcends genres and will have the capability of bringing in a multitude of fans. Be sure to give this song a listen before it becomes big.
