Danny Suede shares the sun-kissed new tune, "shadows on the pavement"

Bursting out from Spokane, United States, is Danny Suede, who has recently released his new track titled "shadows on the pavement". The new offering from the American singer-songwriter has already shot to the top of his most popular songs on Spotify, and I can easily tell why from the very first minute. ... a shimmering, uplifting slice of bedroom pop that feels made for sunny days. The opening sequence of the song is a delicate balance of acoustic guitar mixed with his serene vocals and a dash of electronic pulses just to get you all warmed up. For me, the fusion of bedroom pop and alternative pop sounds reminded me of an early Ed Sheeran as he was about to take over the British music scene. With that in mind, it sounds like Danny is also going in that direction. It is such an uplifting track and has brilliant shimmering moments that make this an unmistakably top pick for your Sunkissed playlists. He is an artist who is on the rise, so be sure to listen to him as soon as you...

Wotts drop their new tune, "swim song"

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, indie-pop project Wotts makes a splash with their enchanting new single, "swim song". It's a very hazy opening with a delightfully electronic pulse, working well with the vocals, moving you deep into the track. ... a short, hazy, and addictive electronic-pop gem packed with dreamy Tame Impala-esque vibes. It's got some subtle psychedelic nods here, but with an overall wash of electronics over it, giving you a rather dreamy soundscape. Drawing inspiration from Tame Impala and Magdalena Bay, Wotts are one of those acts that are blowing us away with every release, and this single is like no other. Even though it's less than three minutes long, it's got a real replayability about it, with lots of sounds to discover with every spin. Having performed on stages at the RBC Bluesfest, Canadian Music Week, and Junofest, this artist is being earmarked for great things. We've been following since the early days, and with every release, it ...

Baby Tapir reveals their intriguing song, "Bright And Morningstar"

Coming out of Milwaukee, United States, indie artist Baby Tapir delivers an intriguing earworm of a new single, "Bright And Morning Star". Written, recorded, and mixed entirely by himself, the self-produced track balances a smooth synth tone with a very indie-rock core. ... an irresistible, synth-driven indie gem bursting with genre-bending swagger and early 2000s energy. I personally love the drumbeat on this, and the synths also reminded me in part of The Killers' early work. The vocals are a good element to point out as it sounds like they've been sung through a megaphone, helping to give the track a bit more of a unique edge compared to other music within the genre. With this song being his ninth of the year, I can also see it being one of his best-performing songs of the year thanks to how accessible the sound is. Be sure to keep an ear out for that chunky bassline after the halfway point. As for me, that was the moment when I knew that I was going to be sticking...

Pisgah returns with her new single , "Delphinus and Dippers"

Singer-songwriter Brittney Jenkins - aka Pisgah - with the bold new single, "Delphinus and Dippers". We have previously had her on our website before, and for good reason too. Her music is incredible and cinematic and can easily grip me with every second that goes by. ... a sizzling, cinematic alt-rock gem weaving Cigarettes After Sex-style moodiness with sweet vocals, shimmering guitars, and a breathtaking outro. The new track has a delightful intro that lasts for 40 seconds before her wonderful vocals come rolling in, almost like Cigarettes After Sex and Beach House, but with even sweeter vocals behind it. This is a sizzling, emotive alternative rock gem, and the London-based artist honestly knows no bounds. This sounds like it has been written to close music festivals on a Sunday, with the rain coming down and the mood high, with plenty of people admiring her on stage. One thing I personally loved was the delicate balance of the moody vocal tones and the shimmering guitars...

EVE.L shares her pop-banger, "SUGAR EATER."

EVE.L, a bold UK-based artist originating from England, is back - and if you like the sound of Grimes and early Charli XCX, this is for you. ... an explosive, Coachella-ready pop fusion blending Grimes-esque vocals with tropical and K-pop influences into a high-energy anthem. The sounds on offer are a unique blend, with the genres on show going all the way from tropical pop to K-pop and basically everything in between. Vocally it is very much reminiscent of Grimes, as I mentioned earlier, but the production values on this sound like it's been written to be performed on the biggest stage at Coachella. It's a real eargasm for those who are looking for a very pop-driven track that isn't on the verge of hyperpop, but still has enough oomph and charm about it that you'll be hooked after the first listen. With now two releases to her name, she has surpassed the 200,000-play mark on Spotify, so she is certainly an artist who's on the rise. Be sure to keep your eye out for ...

Charlie Sly shares the authentic new offering, "Never Had"

Based in Cheltenham, England, it's the ever-impressive indie artist Charlie Sly, and the singer-songwriter has delivered an emotionally raw masterclass with his deeply personal single, "Never Had". ... an emotionally raw, bittersweet masterpiece of heartbreak and healing from one of Cheltenham's finest. The single has its roots in the heartbreaking breakup of an 11-year relationship, and Charlie has taken that and turned it into a 4:18 song that will have you dropping your jaw with appreciation. His vocals on this are absolutely stunning, and for me, on first listen, it reminded me of a slow jam by Tame Impala mixed with some acoustic rockers from the early 2010s. There is a nice mixture of jangly and sugary guitars in this, with intimate drums that are rather sparse in texture but help to give the track plenty of atmosphere. It's all about that bittersweet process of letting go, and I feel that after writing this song Charlie has let it go, reflected, and been ab...

The Harry R Pi shares the seasonal cut, "The Akoustics of the Pumpkin"

Emerging from Wollongong, Australia, The Harry R Pi delivers a rather slick new track titled "The Akoustics of the Pumpkin". Apart from the opening few words, this song is entirely instrumental, with some haunting backing vocals at the very least. ... a hauntingly energetic, genre-blending seasonal anthem made for dark October nights. It is a riveting alt-rock track that is very much Halloween-inspired in terms of its atmosphere and how dark and quirky the guitar sounds are in your ears. It's mystical and energetic at the same time, with a delightful drumbeat helping you bob along to the track. I can also personally see this as a track that can help the artist get plenty more followers by the end of the month, thanks to its seasonal vibe. For me, it sounds like the kind of thing you'd stick on at a Halloween-themed night when you've got plenty of people dressed up as skeletons, cats, and the like. It is one of those tracks that blends several genres together and p...

JF Roy reveals the inspiring new single, "The Morning Light"

Coming out of Fort McMurray in Canada is the Christian rock artist JF Roy. The new single is his third of the year, and this singer-songwriter is the kind of artist that gets tens of thousands of plays on his music. It sounds like this track could be his biggest hit to date. ... an inspiring and uplifting alt-rock anthem blending 90s-tinged guitars, crunching basslines, and bright, hopeful pop sensibilities. It is a very upbeat offering with a bright intro, delightfully upbeat guitars, and, of course, his stunning vocal tones paving the way. I really did like the crunching bass on this one, mixed with the sprightly guitar sounds and tight percussion. His vocals are stunning, and when it hits the chorus for the first time, it comes into this inspiring anthem. With a hint of 1990s alternative rock about it, mixed with more modern pop sensibilities, this song is the kind that can straddle a generation or two, with hopefully lots more fans discovering his music along the way. With the ...

TV Review... Skins (Season 6 Episode 1)

An exclusive online preview of the first episode in the brand new award-winning sixth series. The gang return in style burning their way through a holiday in Morocco. If you haven't seen Skins before it's an extreme spin on a what parents think their kids are doing.. After the fifth season getting a 'bad reaction' in America (which us Brits found very humorous), season six comes bursting with all the usual. Drugs, Sexual content and an abundance of swearing. The sound track for the first episode is the usual 'rave' music, combined with Indie-Rock and slow harmonious music for the programmes 'quiet' and 'sexy' scenes. It's only available to watch on 4OD in the UK, until then you will have to wait (sadly) for the rest of the season, it doesn't officially go on air until the 26th of January but if you click HERE you'll be able to give it a watch. If you haven't seen Skins before it's an extreme spin on a what parents think the...

2nd Magpie Project reveals the dreamy new cut, "Divine Intervention"

Hailing from Lewisham in South London, England, 2nd Magpie Project has today delivered an expansive and dreamy new single titled "Divine Intervention." If you like your shoegazy sounds mixed with strong and powerful vocals, then this is something that you'll love from the first play. ... a cinematic and atmospheric shoegaze gem blending moody Nick Cave-esque guitars with expressive, haze-filled vocals. I personally loved the strong Nick Cave-esque guitars in the background, almost filling the track with haze and character. It's an incredibly moody offering, with the chorus almost cementing their place in your darker, moodier playlists. To me, it sounds like the perfect kind of song to listen to when you're stuck at home on a dreary rainy day in November, but with expressive lyrics that can help you paint a picture in your head to take your mind away from things. Overall, I'd say this is cinematic and atmospheric, with plenty of shoegazing alt-rock moments ...
