Interpol reveal video for "The Rover"

Interpol have released the video to powerhouse new single ‘The Rover", taken from forthcoming Dave Fridmann-produced new album "Marauder", which is released August 24th via Matador. The video was shot on-location in Mexico City in June, during a whirlwind journey where Interpol announced their new album via a live-streamed press conference. January may be the bleakest part of the year: full of post-Christmas dejection, wet and windy weather, sometimes snow and ice, and in 2016, the devastating loss of some of the world’s most innovative geniuses. I also loved the vocals on this, reminding me a lot of Pet Shop Boys in places, but with even more direct tones. This offering was released earlier in the year in May but has since landed in my inbox, and I have been enjoying it thoroughly ever since. The track is under 3 minutes long and is filled with plenty of soulful tones, retro warmth, and a vocal hook that reminds me of Sampha and Rag'n'Bone Man. This track is filled with plenty of radio-friendly elements, and it has since gone on to be one of his best-performing tracks to date, with over 15,000 plays on Spotify alone.
