Gig Review... Clock Opera @ The Portland Arms, Cambridge, 15th November 2012

Clock Opera have certainly grown since they last played The Portland Arms, back then this was a tiny room in a pub nestled away in Cambridge. They return with a successful album and with 200+ happy punters eager to see them yet again!

This show was right in the middle of the UK-wide tour and they all looked a bit shattered, maybe down to the tour schedule or the coldness of the venue when they arrived, yet they still put on a spell binding performance. The first time I've ever seen them live and I can't believe it took this long to see them perform, so I had no idea what I was in for!

The audience was very happy, especially the guy to my right, going crazy to the catchy electronic beats and noises coming from the sample pads. They worked their way through their album, but in a different order to the LP. Fans lapped up everything they had to offer and the highlight of the set was 'Lesson No.7' which has severely grown on me since the album came out. I was very happy finally seeing them perform, the band even came back on for an encore and played their album closer - 'Fail Better'. I really hope to see them grace the stage in Cambridge again, LOVED IT!
