Things We're Looking Forward To In 2018

It's all well and good talking about new bands and their tunes, but sometimes the best bits of the year is when one of your favourite band comes back on the scene with a astonishing new album, tour or a festival line-up.

Here's TEN things we can't wait for in 2018, in no particular order.

Arctic Monkeys return

It's been well documented that the Sheffield band is in the studio, and multiple reports suggest a new album is due out this year, wrap that around a tour and possible festival dates and we've got something magical on our hands. Get on your dancing shoes everyone!

Air Traffic's new album

It's been a while since Air Traffic released an album, "Fractured Life" was released back in 2007, and the band have pretty much been on a hiatus ever since... until mid 2017 when the band revealed they were back with the original line-up for a series of shows celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the LP. With a few demos being shared over the years the band fully returned with the glorious new single "Almost Human" which was released after their stint of comeback shows. Ever since seeing them in Amsterdam I've been yearning for their second album!

Foals new album?

Just like Arctic Monkeys, there has been speculation around the Oxford outfit, with rumours saying that an album will be out in 2018. Having last released an album back in 2015 (wow nearly three years) there is something on the horizon!

The 1975's new album

Having spoken to one of the members personally I can confirm they're recording new music, with the band confirming something will be out this year, it's just a matter of time before we hear LP3 from the quartet.

The 1975's side-project album, Drive Like I Do

Around the same time news was spreading that they're in the studio Matty took to twitter to say that Drive Like I Do are due to drop an album. Now if you're unfamiliar with this band, it's the name The 1975 use to go under before their current moniker. More Pop-Rock than their current Alt-Pop/80's Influenced work this really could be an interesting move if it happens.

Bloc Party's new album?

The line-up has changed, they released a solid album (in my personal opinion), although it has been slated by some as it's not 'Silent Alarm', there is always one. The refreshed-line-up released "Stunt Queen" (watch the video below) in late 2016 and nothing has happened since, Kele has released another solo album and the band have played shows here and there, so something glorious is about to happen?

Glastonbury's year off & The Variety Bazaar

It's Glasto's first fallow year since the 2012, and that was down to the Olympics mainly and the promoters not wanting to 'clash'. With that in mind 2018 is not happening and you're going to have to wait until 2019 to go to the fields in Somerset. The duo of Micheal and Emily Eavis have already told media that they're going to be doing another festival called The Variety Bazaar, details (as per usual with these two) are not known as of yet, date, bands, location etc... but it should be good to see a 'big festival' come onto the scene. Likewise, it should be great to see other festivals 'step up their game' this year due to Galstonbury not being on, expect some huge line-ups!

New albums from The Wombats, The Hunna, Florence + The Machine, Editors, Biffy Clyro, Don Broco, Interpol and The Kooks.

It's not all about three of four bands, this lot ^ are also due to drop new albums, some confirmed and some are STRONG rumours, but we're excited for everyone of these!

2018 is here, we're ready for you!
