FIB adds more incredible acts to its stellar line-up

FIB (Festival Internacional de Benicàssim) which takes place in the Costa Azahar region in Spain from the 19th until the 22nd of July was already the guaranteed indie festival of the year with its initial line-up announcement consisting of headliners Liam Gallagher, The Killers and Travis Scott. The rest of the line-up consists of staple indie bands such as Wolf Alice, Two Door Cinema Club, Bastille, The Vaccines, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Shame (to name a few).

However, the additions to this initial announcement do not disappoint, English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys will be headlining one of the four nights of the Spanish festival and this will surely be a night to remember. Described as putting on a show brimming with 'spectacular lighting design and theatrical elements', the night at FIB will most certainly come alive. Their incredible début album 'Please' released in 1986 which spent 82 weeks in the Official Album Charts has recently been re-issued as a 2018 remaster, therefore, there is no doubt that the duo will be performing hits such as 'West End Girls', 'Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)' and 'Suburbia'. Their most recent album 'Super', released in 2016 via the band's own label reached number three on the UK Albums Chart, and was well received by numerous music critics. Their live shows are always mesmerising and full of energy, their set at FIB can only be highly anticipated and will ultimately provide an amazing festival vibe full of catchy tunes.

Following on from this, Brighton indie rock outfit The Kooks will be performing at FIB. Again, having been on the mainstream music scene since 2006 with the release of their Number 2 début album Inside In/Inside Out, The Kooks have built a hardcore fan-base all over the world. Their shows continue to be unquestionably electrifying, and frontman Luke Pritchard constantly delivers. With catchy singles 'Naïve', 'Seaside' and 'She Moves In Her Own Way', The Kooks' set will be one of nostalgia for sure, bringing back those memories of listening to those tracks over 10 years ago. We cannot wait for this set at FIB, it's going to be absolutely incredible.

New indie favourites The Magic Gang have also joined the line-up. Having released their début album last week via Felix White's (The Maccabees) record label Yala! Records, The Magic Gang are certainly on the road to great things. The Brighton band have been on the DIY/indie music scene for the past few years, having supported the likes of Hinds and Circa Waves, they are now embarking on numerous sell-out headline tours around the UK, with venues increasing in size each time. The Magic Gang are known for their memorable, cheery tunes, that always get the crowd going. Their festival sets are always excellent and constantly contain an element of surprise. Their set at Barn On The Farm last year resulted in A+E being called when frontman Jack Kaye fell of the stage when interacting with the crowd. The Magic Gang always give 110% in terms of performance and their set at FIB will definitely be just that - don't miss it!

London ska legends Madness will also be taking over the festival, which will most certainly be a set brimming with fun, energy and excitement. Also taking to the stage will be the incredible Jessie Ware, Mercury nominated J Hus, indie punks Sleaford Mods, Scottish indie pop band Belle & Sebastian and French electronic duo Justice (to name but a few)!

FIB 2018 is most certainly going to be an unforgettable edition this year, with the range of incredible acts already confirmed, we cannot wait for the next announcement! The hot weather, no traces of mud, and four nights of stellar live music, Benicàssim is one of those festivals that has to be experienced. With four-day festival tickets for as little as €155 (including camping), FIB is unquestionably great value for money without a doubt.
