Luan Mei unveils shimmering new single "Yellow"

Brighton based singer-songwriter Luan Mei has recently unveiled her shimmering new single "Yellow", the track is the second single to ever be released from Luan Mei following on from the well received 2019 track "Elements".

"Yellow" is an indie-pop anthem in the waiting with sun-kissed guitars and electronics. The vocals shine brightly too with them bouncing gorgeously off of the instruments as when the chorus hits you can't help but be wowed by the majesty of it all.

The single was released in June as Luan Mei was bringing a different story to the industry - which was also Pride Month - saying "It is essential to give voice to all the people from the LGBTQ+ collective who are not able to live freely, through making visible all types of love and stories." going on to say " ... 'Yellow' is a song which portrays a real love story between two female artists, a musician and a poet, and how feelings evolve between them and their art."

Originally from Madrid in Spain Luan started writing songs at the tender age of 15, and now that she's 22 all of her talent is now being showcased through her two recordings, with "Yellow" arguably being one of the finest indie-pop tunes we've heard in a while.

The new release has  got some surf vibes in there too, especially leading into the choruses. It's no wonder that influences are Milky Chance, Tash Sultana and Tom Misch with there being a lot of similarities being drawn against her and Tash Sultana with the instrumentation and approach, with the vibrant pop style of Milky Chance coming out in bursts too.

Considering her debut single got picked by by her local BBC Radio station there is much to shout about already, and with this shimmering follow-up there is yet another artist from Brighton to keep a close eye on. Luan Mei WILL be going places if she continues creating songs like "Yellow"
