The Magic Es reveals emotive new track, "Gone"

The Magic Es have recently unveiled their latest single, "Gone", and it's their first release since their 2021 live EP and the first proper single since 2020's "Hope". The Norwich based trio's approach to this track is a soft one with a rather warming intro that focuses highly on the front-man's vocals, which reminds me a lot of Manic Street Preachers.

It's the sort of track that will capture your attention from the lyrics alone, there's so much emotion here backed up with soaring guitar moments and crisp production rounding it off.

KEXP, XS Noise, and BBC Introducing have all picked up on the band with previous releases, and with the cohesive sound that this trio has it's no wonder such outlets have shown them love.

Speaking about the track lead vocalist and guitarist, Pete Thompson mentions  - "I wrote this song during lockdown following the passing of a couple of people who I was very close to once upon a time. The song is ultimately about wishing you were there to support people during their most troubling times and knowing, once they’ve gone, there was so much more you could have done if you weren’t wrapped up in your own life."

It's the sort of track that will capture your attention from the lyrics alone, there's so much emotion here backed up with soaring guitar moments and crisp production rounding it off. The Norwich music scene I'm sure are glad that this trio are a part of the scene.

They're also releasing an EP by the end of the year, so if you like what you hear be sure to give them a  follow on the socials!
