Vigilantes release one of the most exciting EPs of the year - "The Neighbourhood"

Coming from Lincoln in the UK is Vigilantes with their second EP, titled "The Neighbourhood". If you've been following them in the past few months you would have heard a few teasers that this exciting quartet were dropping.

The EP opens up with it's title track, a strong opening with reverb laced guitar which sets the tone for the rest of the track, here it sounds anthemic and atmospheric as anything, reminding me of something Arcade Fire would write. It's a strong opening and really has my excitations set high, but what comes next doesn't disappoint.

The EP is an exciting insight to an equally exciting band who just wants to create tune after anthem after banger!

The following tracks was one previously released, titled "Better Man" this  single helped them get noticed by BBC Radio 1 as well as several Spotify curators giving them the love. "Better Man" is more of a jangly track with hints of The Smiths and the following cut - "Secrets" - is much of the same but more of a slower jam at the start before evolving into a track that'll get you delving into the mosh pit.

Track four out of five is a Brit-Pop inspired anthem in the waiting, the guitars are huge here and the drums compliment them as they're equally as large, brash and commanding. Similar to the other tracks the vocals once again are on top form here, enticing the listener to chant them back. It's a bit of a Grunge blend towards the latter half, but regardless we're still loving their heavier side.

Closing out the EP, which at this point is flawless is a track that opens up with a bright and sizzling synth, I swear it's in the same key and tone as The Killers track "Smile Like You Mean It", and it leaves you with a taste of an exciting band that's not too afraid to mix it up a bit.

The EP was produced by the band and mixed by Al Groves at Motor Museum and is an exciting insight to an equally exciting band who just wants to create tune after anthem after banger!
