On the last day of 2022 a lot of people were celebrating the end of one year and heading into another, but for Taydem Shoesmith this day was extra special as she shared her debut single, "Are You Clapping?". Understandably it may have gone under the radar for some, but not us!

Hailing from Carroll in Iowa she's slap bang in the middle of the USA but her music is middle of the road, its rather a collection of several genres. At the very start it's ethreal with her vocals backed up with some incrtedibly deep 90s synth pads, soon it then evolves with a kick drum and thereafter more is added.
The chorus is where our jaw dropped as it brings together RnB drumbeats, slick 90s sounding synths and anthemic vocal tones to elevate the track even more. Props to her for adding actual hand-claps in the song, considering the title it would be mad not to include them.
