Hailing from Pittsburgh in the USA is Ancient History and at the tail end of February they shared their dreamy new single, "Clementines". The single is their first since the outfit released their "Good Friend Electrical" album way back in 2017, and if I'm being honest it sounds like the wait was well worth it.
Bedroom-pop meets psychedelic dream-pop.
If you're a fan of the dreamy vocal hooks in Tame Impala's tracks then "Clementines" is going to sit well with you. The beats have a slightly bedroom-pop feel to it but as far as I'm concerned that's a good asset to have as it grounds the track and gives it a fresh undertone.
The dreamy sounds heard for me act as a canvas for the slightly washed-out and psychedelic guitars to warm up to. Now if you liked the sound of this new cut then good news is coming, their brand new "Zero Dollar Consolation Prize", is set for release on the 15th of March 2024.
