Just last week saw the brilliant Louis Croft share his eighth of the year (EPs, Alternative versions also combined) and it's no wonder that the Nottingham-based singer-songwriter is steadily climbing up the ladder in his scene.
The train announcement intro for me gave me big mid-2000s indie vibes, but that sense became even bigger once the rush of folk-driven guitars came washing over my ears.
The pace of the song is frantic enough to entice you to a little dance and a foot-stomp but not too much that it rushes you by. The vocals is what keeps the track grounded, and once again here we're treated to some vocals that you would expect to hear at the peak of the indie-pop scene in the mid-2010s. Think a blend of Mumford & Sons, Two Door Cinema Club and Tyler Childers and that's not far off where we find "I'm Going Away".
With support slots for the likes of Ocean Colour Scene and The Coral, and slots at Sound City and Dot to Dot it's no surprise that Louis is capitalising on the success he has had!
