The Long Island-based singer-songwriter, Dan Cooney, has recently returned with his new track, "THIS FEELING", the first since his "WENDY" single came out back in November. Dan has been on a good rise since dropping his debut cut back in 2020, and has since he's gone on to get close to 100k streams, not bad for an unsigned act in any country!
Urgent, nostalgic and full-on - I loved it well before the end of the first play.
Having been in multiple alt-rock bands before going solo it's no wonder that the track sounds so cohesive and full-on. The intro alone is filled with washed-out rock guitar tones shortly followed by his atmospheric vocals. Briefly speaking about the track Cooney says - " ... I started writing it last year in the fall and had left it alone for a while. As time went on and my emotions became stronger I was able to finish writing it in March."
Once the drums start kicking in the sense of urgency increases and it's when the track drops just after the 67-second mark that I feel myself sinking into this like I've been a huge fan of his all my life. There's a big smell of nostalgia here and with it sounding so strong it seriously helps when new fans listen to this for the first time.
