John Tibbits unveils his new single, "Trumped Up"

John Tibbits is back with his second single of the year, "Trumped Up", and it's a smooth blend of folk elements and 80s rock tones. The track kicks off with an acoustic guitar before a smooth bass comes in, it's almost a tease for what's to come as his vocals shortly come crooning in after.
"Trumped Up" feels like an 80s song reborn with modern angst.

I have to admit when the track got to the chorus it felt like an 80s rock tune reborn, the crunching guitars and frantic drumming were a welcome change of pace! Speaking about the release John says - "Originally intended for release closer to the November U.S. elections, "Trumped Up" has been brought forward to challenge the rise of hard-right movements in upcoming elections in the UK and France."

Vocally John reminds me of The Courteeners but with extra angst like a punk vocalist, and when you compare this to his previous work you'll find it to be on the heavier side of things. But one thing I love about this is that even though John is more of a singer-songwriter/acoustic act he can really switch up his sound and still produce a great tune!
